Signing In
The desktop app uses your normal FutPrint account. There are two ways to sign in, and both end with your saved workspaces loading in the app.
With email and password
Type your email and password on the sign-in screen and click Sign in. This happens entirely inside the app. If your account uses a second verification step, the app asks for the code in the same window.
With Google, through your browser
Google does not allow its sign-in page to run inside desktop apps, so FutPrint hands this step to your default browser, where you are probably already signed in to Google.
- 1Click Continue with Google
FutPrint opens your default browser and shows Finish signing in in your browser, then return here.
- 2Choose your Google account
Complete the Google sign-in in the browser as you normally would.
- 3Allow the browser to open FutPrint
The browser asks whether to open FutPrint. Click Open FutPrint (the exact wording depends on your browser). You can tick the box to always allow it so the browser does not ask again.
- 4Return to the app
FutPrint comes to the front, signed in, and loads your workspaces. You can close the browser tab.
The Continue with Google button stays active while you wait. If you closed the browser tab or picked the wrong account, click it again to start a fresh attempt. An unfinished attempt expires after ten minutes.
New to FutPrint? Click Sign up under the sign-in form, then choose Sign up with Google or create an account with your email. Google sign-up uses the same browser hand-off.
Where your session is kept
Once you are signed in, FutPrint stores your session in the operating system's own secure store:
- macOS: the Keychain, in an entry whose name is
in.futprint.desktop. - Windows: Credential Manager, in a Windows credential whose name contains
in.futprint.desktop.
Because the session lives outside the app, FutPrint opens already signed in, and it stays signed in when you install a new release.
Signing out
Open the profile menu at the top right of the terminal and choose Sign out. The session ends and the app returns to the sign-in screen, so the next person to open FutPrint on that computer has to sign in.
Problems signing in
See Troubleshooting if the browser does not hand you back to the app.
