Option Chain

The Option Chain Panel gives a structured view of Calls and Puts around the current market price. Search an underlying, pick an expiry, focus on a strike range near ATM, and inspect Open Interest, price changes, and strategy-relevant signals like Long/Short Buildup.

1. Header and Controls

  • Title and live indicator: A green dot appears when any row is receiving real-time updates.
  • Symbol search: Search underlyings (3+ characters). Results show unique underlyings sorted by name.
  • Expiry selector: Choose from available expiries fetched for the selected underlying.
  • Strike range: Quickly filter to ±N strikes around ATM (e.g., ±5 by default).
  • Columns & Layout: Toggle Compact mode and select which columns to show in Full mode.
    • Available columns: CE OI, CE LTP, CE Analysis, Strike, PE Analysis, PE LTP, PE OI.

2. Selecting an Underlying and Expiry

  • Use the header search to pick the underlying. The panel fetches available expiries and the complete chain.
  • Select an expiry to focus the table to that series. Expiry selection re-filters the chain automatically.
  • The selected underlying’s live price and change appear in the info bar below the header.

3. Layouts

  • Compact mode: Minimal three-column grid—Calls | Strike | Puts. Fast for scanning.
  • Full mode: Detailed columns with LTP, OI, and Analysis on both sides of the Strike.
  • Column visibility: In Full mode, toggle any of the CE/PE columns from the layout menu. Reset to defaults any time.

4. Real-Time Data and ATM Highlighting

  • Live updates: Underlying, calls, and puts update in real time when streaming is active.
  • ATM row: The strike closest to the underlying’s LTP is highlighted to anchor your focus.
  • Persistence: Your panel state (symbol, expiry, strike range) is preserved within the session.

5. Open Interest Bars and Scaling

  • Mirrored OI bars: CE OI renders from right to left; PE OI from left to right—at a glance comparison per strike.
  • Dynamic scaling: OI bar lengths are normalized to the maximum OI on each side within the visible set.
  • Values: OI values are displayed numerically on top of the scaled backgrounds.

6. Price/OI Analysis Badges

Each side shows a simple interpretation combining price change and OI delta:

  • Long Buildup: Price up, OI up
  • Short Covering: Price up, OI down
  • Short Buildup: Price down, OI up
  • Long Unwinding: Price down, OI down

These quick labels help you gauge intent at each strike.

7. Hover Quick Actions

Hover over CE/PE price cells to open quick actions:

  • Chart: Open a chart for that specific option.
  • Time & Sales: Open live prints for that option.

These actions require the terminal workspace. If the menu doesn’t appear, ensure your workspace is active.

Tips

  • Start from Watchlist: From the Watchlist hover menu, open Option Chain on any symbol to jump straight into analysis.
  • Adjust strike range: Expand to ±10 or more for broader context; compress to ±3 for focus around ATM.
  • Use Full mode: Enable the Analysis columns and OI to spot where positioning is changing.
